Changes in the Plumbing Industry
The plumbing industry over the last
year has change tremendously. The Texas State Board of Plumbing
Examiners in Austin has made it difficult for anyone to administer
plumbing without a plumbing license. The changes are to make sure
that the people here in the state of Texas will receive the best of
water supply, good sanitary systems, plumbing fixtures and anything
else that goes along with the trade of plumbing.
One reason why the Texas State Board
of Plumbing Examiners have made a lot of changes in this trade is
because of the negative feed back from those who receive plumbing
work from unlicensed plumbers. So now in order for any
individual to do plumbing work in the trade of plumbing he/she must
first be registered as a plumber's apprentice.
Then he/she can become a drain cleaner
restricted registrant. After completing 2000 to 4000 hours
under the supervision of a master plumber then he/she will be
qualified to become a drain cleaner or residential utilities
installer. You can also be qualified to go to Austin and take
an exam to become tradesman plumber-Limited licenses.
After working in the trade for 8000
hours under the supervision of a master plumber he/she can then be
qualified to take an exam to become a journeyman plumber. After
having your journeyman licenses for one year, then he/she will be
qualified to become a master plumber. All of these changes
where designed to make sure that when any individual is in need of
plumbing services that individual will get a licensed and trained
plumber who will follow the Texas State Board of Plumbing rules.
